Family Support Services
The Providence Center School’s Family Support Team provides a communication link between the home and the school. The family support coordinator, student and family support counselors and case manager/teacher assistants meet and consult with parents regularly.
Beginning with their initial visit to the school, support for families include:
- Regular communication and annual home visits
- Teaching families successful behavior management techniques
- Quarterly meetings with students to review progress and goals
- Identifying community resources for families
- Support in crisis situations
- More frequent communication for students in need of a higher level of support
Parent Education Groups
Parent education groups are held periodically throughout the school year on topics of interest to parents of school-age children, such as substance use education, dealing with behavioral issues and creating a connection between home and school.
