The Providence Center School

Family Support Services

The Providence Center School’s Family Support Team provides a communication link between the home and the school. The family support coordinator, student and family support counselors and case manager/teacher assistants meet and consult with parents regularly.

Beginning with their initial visit to the school, support for families include:

  • Regular communication and annual home visits
  • Teaching families successful behavior management techniques
  • Quarterly meetings with students to review progress and goals
  • Identifying community resources for families
  • Support in crisis situations
  • More frequent communication for students in need of a higher level of support

Parent Education Groups

Parent education groups are held periodically throughout the school year on topics of interest to parents of school-age children, such as substance use education, dealing with behavioral issues and creating a connection between home and school.
