Attendance Improvement Program
For students whose attendance patterns are impacting their learning and growth, the Attendance Improvement Program (AIP) goes beyond general attendance guidelines to find solutions to improve attendance habits.
How it works:
- School staff works with the student and his/her family to understand the barriers that exist to getting to school daily on time.
- An individualized AIP is developed with the student's treatment team, the student and parent/guardian
- Interventions include: solving transportation issues, morning checking to reduce anxiety, and increased communication with family.
- Students are recognized for achieving attendance goals at monthly attendance assemblies.
