CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
Students in the Middle School
experience standards based units of instruction.
As part of the school's literacy
initiatives, students experience directed reading instruction in the Houghton Mifflin
reading series, Invitations to Literacy. The completion of
morning packets of short writing activities, math practice, and current
events (Time for Kids), round out the language arts
experience.
Middle School students swim
weekly, visit the public library biweekly, and take field trips related
to their studies on a regular basis. They meet at the end of the day to
review their daily experiences. They have the opportunity to share and
interact with classmates and teachers in a positive and constructive
way.
