MIDDLE SCHOOL CLASSROOM PHILOSOPHY

The Middle School includes grades six, seven, and eight.  We provide a standards based curriculum. We challenge students to attain the academic goals and objectives stated in their individual education plans (IEP). Our curriculum includes reading, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education, health and social skills group.   We have an individualized behavioral program designed to attain goals and objectives in the IEP and to provide students with a better understanding of themselves and their peers.

Our classroom provides a safe, nurturing, and comfortable academic environment within a highly structured day program. Students have their own learning styles and we foster the development of these individual learning styles. The concept of community is important to the structure of the classroom.
