Curriculum OVERVIEW

Our curriculum is based on the RI Early Learning Standards and RI Standards encompassing all of the areas of development. We emphasize active learning to help children acquire the academic skills they will need to succeed. We use a thematic approach to integrate the following areas: approaches to learning, social/emotional development, language development and communication, literacy, mathematics, science, creativity and physical health. We provide whole group activities and center-based activities. Our group activities include circle time, story time, snack time and music and movement. Our centers include manipulative area, block area, housekeeping, science and sensory, writing center and art. We also work closely with the occupational therapist and speech and language therapist in order to further develop individual needs within the classroom environment.
