CLASSROOM RULES AND BEHAVIOR SYSTEM

We have five basic rules that the students are required and encouraged to follow.

These rules are:
Follow directions
Respect people and property
Participate in classroom activities
Stay in my own space
Mind my own issues

Point System
The behavior point system the Primary Classroom implements is a point-based system in which students have the opportunity to earn points towards a daily and weekly reward if the meet their individual goals. At the end of the day, students and teachers collaboratively tally their earned points to determined if the student has met his/her individual goal for a small daily prize. In addition, if students are successful in meeting their weekly goal, they are able to earn a Big Toy at the end of the week. Students also have the opportunity to earn bonus points for positive behavior. Students are encourages, praised, and supportive in utilizing and exhibiting appropriate behaviors. Thus, teachers participate in weekly meeting (i.e., Friday) to discuss each students’ favorite part of the week and one goal that he/she needs to work on.
