UPPER ELEMENTARY CLASSROOM PHILOSOPHY

The Upper Elementary Classroom includes grades five and six.

We create and provide instruction based on the needs of all of our students.  These units of instruction are integrated into language arts, math, social studies, science, and art activities.  The classroom environment is meant to be fun as well as educational.  Students learn best when they are enjoying what they are doing.  Gearing activities and lessons to the students’ interests and needs will help them to succeed academically and socially.

Our classroom goal is to provide an environment in which we can all feel comfortable.  In order to achieve this we learn to be caring, cooperative, and safe to others as well as ourselves.  This helps students gain the confidence they need to be successful in school and in life.  All children learn in their own way.  They will be able to explore a variety of strategies to find ways which helps them to be successful.  Educating students in a motivating and fun way will help them to attain their individual goals.
